Tottenham travel to Wales to face Swansea on Saturday afternoon in the FA Cup.
Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino will be desperate to book his side’s place in the next round of the FA Cup after being knocked out of the Champions League by Juventus.
Pressure is growing on the Argentine manager’s shoulders to deliver a trophy as Spurs manager and after Juventus’ win at Wembley, Pochettino will be keen to field a strong side against Swansea City in Saturday’s quarter-final.
However, the trip to Swansea’s Liberty Stadium will Spurs’ seventh game in less than a month and Pochettino needs to rest a number of his first-team stars.
He will also be without star striker Harry Kane, who has been ruled out for over a month with an ankle injury while defender Toby Alderweireld remains on the sidelines after suffering a setback in his recovery from a hamstring problem.
It should see Fernando Llorente come into the side to face his former club once again, after scoring against the Swans earlier in the season in the Premier League. Davinson Sanchez and Jan Vertonghen are likely to play at centre-back.
The likes of Dele Alli, Mousa Dembele and Hugo Lloris are all expected to be rested in eight changes made by Pochettino to face Carlos Carvalhal’s rejuvenated side. Lucas Moura, 25, could make just his third start.
Out go Lloris, Serge Aurier, Danny Rose, Dembele, Victor Wanyama, Alli, Son Heung-min and Kane, and in come Michel Vorm, Kieran Trippier, Ben Davies, Eric Dier, Harry Winks, Lucas, Erik Lamela and Llorente.
