Tottenham Hotspur take on QPR this Sunday looking to back up a positive result against West Ham last weekend.
Spurs have secured two wins on the bounce following that result and a win against AEL in the Europa League as Mauricio Pochettino mulls over whether to make changes for the home game this weekend.
We’ve had a go at naming the possible Spurs side for the game against QPR.
GK – Hugo Lloris
The Frenchman is one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League. He’ll start for as long as he’s at the club.
RB – Kyle Walker
Pochettino could take the gutsy decision to put Walker back into the side with Kyle Naughton injured. It’s a risk because Walker will be behind in terms of match fitness.
CB – Eric Dier
Dier seems to have taken to life at Spurs like a duck to water. He looks incredibly mature for his younger age.
CB – Jan Vertonghen
Vertonghen was nowhere near his best in the game against AEL but he’ll be better for the 90 minutes, a little sharper and will be comfortable in front of a home crowd.
LB – Ben Davies
The same applies for Davies. Pochettino made a big call with the former Swansea star when he could have gone after other left-backs. Danny Rose will continue if Davies doesn’t recover well from the AEL game.
RM – Aaron Lennon
Lennon is one of the most experienced players Spurs have. He’s capable of playing down either side of the team.
DM – Etienne Capoue
Pochettino seems to like Capoue in the holding midfield role. He reads the game well and can offer adequate protection for the defence.
CM – Nabil Bentaleb
Growing in terms of Premier League experience and it would be another big call considering Paulinho and Mousa Dembele are now back in action.
AM – Christian Eriksen
Eriksen looks very comfortable playing the number ten role in behind the main striker. He can turn a game in a split second.
LM – Erik Lamela
Lamela appears to have come on leaps and bounds under the guidance of Pochettino. He changed the game against AEL and will be full of confidence.
ST – Emmanuel Adebayor
It’s a big game for Adebayor because he’s under pressure following Roberto Soldado’s performance against AEL. He should just keep his place.
