Here’s how Tottenham Hotspur could line up next season based on current players and potential signings.
Mauricio Pochettino has had the chance to start working with his Tottenham Hotspur players ahead of next season as pre-season training for Spurs is now well under way.
The Argentine’s main objective heading into the new season will be a top four finish and to achieve that, Pochettino has to make key additions in the transfer market.
Tottenham are reportedly working away on a number of deals, which should give them a solid looking starting side for next season. It could look something like this.
GK – Hugo Lloris
The Frenchman is one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League, always looking for ways to take the pressure off of his defence.
RB – Kyle Walker
If Walker is fit then he’ll more than likely start on the right and he may feel as though he has a point to prove after missing the World Cup.
CB – Younes Kaboul
Kaboul can add real strength and presence into the heart of the back four and be one of Pochettino’s leaders in the side.
CB – Jan Vertonghen
Pochettino has already personally called Vertonghen and the Belgian should be a regular on the left hand side of central defence.
LB – Ben Davies
Davies appears to be the left-back Pochettino now has his heart set on. Swansea are unsurprisingly standing firm over price.
RM – Aaron Lennon
Lennon’s pace and drive going forward makes him a big threat on the right hand side. He can also play down the left if needed.
DM – Sandro
The Beast can be the player Pochettino uses to sit and protect the back four throughout the season if he stays fit.
CM – Paulinho
Paulinho is good enough for Pochettino to build the rest of the team around him. It will be interesting to see if he encourages him to play further forward.
AM – Christian Eriksen
Eriksen is at his best when he gets on the ball in central positions and is allowed to be creative in behind the main striker.
LM – Antoine Griezmann
Some reports have suggested this week that Tottenham could make a move for the highly rated Frenchman. It would be a superb deal if they could pull it off and he’s experienced playing on either side of the midfield.
ST – Wilfried Bony
Links are still lingering over a potential move for the Swansea front man. He has the potential to lead Tottenham’s attack next season superbly.
