Here is how we predict Sunderland will line up against Carlisle United in their upcoming cup clash:

Sunderland travel to Carlisle United on Tuesday evening for their latest EFL Cup match.

The Black Cats will be smarting from their 2-0 defeat to Leeds United in the Championship on Saturday; a result that saw Simon Grayson’s side suffer their first loss of the new season.

While that is a blow, Sunderland will have to put the disappointment behind them and focus on the challenges ahead, with a lot of football to be played between now and May.

Next up is a cup match against League Two side Carlisle and Grayson will not be taking a victory for granted despite facing lower league opposition.

Sunderland overcame Bury 1-0 in the previous round and many of the same players can expect to feature this week.

Grayson has already gone on record to say that with Brendan Galloway out of Tuesday’s match, Bryan Oviedo will return to the starting line-up.

Wahbi Khazri will also be hopeful of getting more minutes under his belt while Adam Matthews did well enough after coming off the bench on Saturday to justify a start this time round.

With all that in mind here is how we expect Sunderland to line up on Tuesday night:
