Injuries to John O’Shea and Adam Matthews could enforce changes in the Sunderland back-line.

Chris Coleman, manager of Sunderland looks on ahead of the Sky Bet Championship match between QPR and Sunderland at Loftus Road on March 10, 2018 in London, England.

Sunderland are clinging onto their Championship status, and nothing but a stunning run will be needed from here to stay up.

The Black Cats are six points adrift of safety with just four games remaining, starting at rejuvenated Reading on Saturday.

Although Sunderland have improved of late, Chris Coleman still has not found that winning formula and so he will be considering whether to make changes ahead of a key fixture.

Goalkeeper Lee Camp remains first choice due to the lack of a viable alternative, but both John O’Shea and Adam Matthews went off with injuries against Norwich City. Fortunately Sunderland have replacements back in the form of Jake Clarke-Salter and Bryan Oviedo.

In the midfield, there is slightly more choice. Joel Asoro can feel hard done by to be missing out on the wing, but Lynden Gooch and Aiden McGeady deserve their places. Paddy McNair isn’t certain to be back, so the middle three could well all play.

Up front, Ashley Fletcher is finally causing a nuisance even if the goals still will not flow for the on-loan forward.

Here’s how we see Sunderland lining up at Reading:
