Tottenham Hotspur return to Premier League action this weekend, as they travel to take on Huddersfield Town on Saturday afternoon.
Spurs beat APOEL Nicosia 3-0 in the Champions League on Tuesday night, with star striker Harry Kane bagging a perfect hat-trick in Cyprus.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men are now back to the bread and butter of the league, with a trip to the John Smith’s Stadium coming up on Saturday afternoon.
Pochettino made changes for the trip to Cyprus in midweek, but a host of absences mean some players may have to start again at Huddersfield.
Serge Aurier is suspended, whilst Danny Rose, Victor Wanyama, Mousa Dembele and Erik Lamela remain out through injury, though Christian Eriksen appears to be recovering from illness in time to play.
Pochettino will be expected to keep Hugo Lloris in goal, whilst Jan Vertonghen should return to the defence alongside Toby Alderweireld and Davinson Sanchez having been suspended against APOEL.
Ben Davies and Kieran Trippier both started against APOEL, but a lack of other options may force them to play at wing back against Huddersfield, with Harry Winks and Eric Dier possibly in line to play in midfield.
Moussa Sissoko could start in midfield if Winks’ ankle isn’t quite ready to start twice in a week, which would leave Dele Alli – who was also suspended against APOEL – and Eriksen behind Kane, with three changes in total from the starting line-up against APOEL.
That would leave the likes of Michel Vorm, Juan Foyth, Kyle Walker-Peters, Sissoko, Georges-Kevin Nkoudou and Fernando Llorente among the substitutes, with youngsters like Tashan Oakley-Boothe and Anthony Georgiou no doubt hoping to press for places in the squad too.
