Second-placed Southampton take on 18th-placed Queens Park Rangers on Saturday, with both sides wanting the point for very different reasons.
If things go their way and Chelsea lose to Aston Villa, the Saints could go to the top of the pile this weekend, while Harry Redknapp’s side want to climb out of the relegation zone after a less than promising start to the new campaign.
Southampton injury concerns: The Saints have doubts over Maya Yoshida and Toby Alderweireld. Ronald Koeman revealed that the Belgian international trained on Thursday and things are looking positive but that Yoshida did not participate although he may still make it.
Southampton absences: James Ward-Prowse is side-lined with a foot injury and will not be back until the end of November. Jay Rodriguez and Sam Gallagher are both long-term absentees.
QPR injury concerns: Sandro has a knee injury but has a 75 per cent chance of being fit. Nico Kranjcar is less likely to feature, as is Adel Taarabt
QPR absences: Jordon Mutch and Joey Barton are out with hamstring injuries, while Alejandro Faurlin is out for the season.
