Sheffield Wednesday are looking for their fourth straight win in the Championship.
Sheffield Wednesday’s Vincent Sasso celebrates his side’s first goal against Blackburn
Sheffield Wednesday can make it four wins from as many Championship fixtures when they travel to Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
But with games against Brentford and play-off rivals Leeds United to come next week, Owls head coach Carlos Carvalhal could look to shuffle his pack at the City Ground.
Here’s how we at HITC suspect the visitors will look:
Goalkeeper: Keiren Westwood
Defenders: Jack Hunt, Vincent Sasso, Glenn Loovens, Daniel Pudil
Tom Lees sits out his fourth straight fixture, so in-form Sasso should continue in his place, between Hunt and Loovens. Morgan Fox is a fitness doubt so either Pudil or Adam Reach could start at left-back.
Midfielders: Ross Wallace, Sam Hutchinson, Barry Bannan, Adam Reach
Carvalhal suggested this week he’ll continue with Bannan despite acknowledging the Scot’s dip in form, however, Hutchinson is touch-and-go after coming off in midweek. David Jones and Almen Abdi are both on standby in the event that either player fails to feature. Wingers Wallace and Reach are likely to remain, although Callum McManaman and Fernando Forestieri could play if not.
Sheffield Wednesday’s Barry Bannan in action
Forwards: Fernando Forestieri, Jordan Rhodes
Forestieri looks set to return after missing the first half against Blackburn, and it could be in place of Sam Winnall after the latter was withdrawn due to fatigue. A straight 4-4-2 is always risky away from home, and playing Forestieri in behind Rhodes should give the Owls a bit more security.
