Sheffield Wednesday are in need of an improved performance against their local rivals.
Sheffield Wednesday face local rivals Chesterfield in the League Cup on Tuesday and head coach Carlos Carvalhal will be seeking a more convincing performance this time out.
The Owls, who are much fancied for promotion to the Premier League, slumped to a 1-0 defeat against Preston North End on the Championship’s opening day, in which they failed to muster a meaningful shot at goal.

With a bloated squad which includes seven senior strikers – bumped up by one after Carvalhal’s admission about Fernando Forestieri – the Portuguese will have been hoping to rotate at Hillsborough.
But having seen his detractors grow post-Preston, Carvalhal may opt against making wholesale changes in search of a confidence boost.
Wednesday, arguably, have too many strikers to stick with Saturday’s pairing of Jordan Rhodes and Forestieri – despite the former’s urgent need of a change in fortune – while midfield man Sam Hutchinson could be rested to conserve precious energy.
Here’s how we suspect the Owls will line up – what do you reckon?
