Lee Bullen takes his Sheffield Wednesday side to Brentford on Saturday in search of his second win in as many matches as Owls caretaker manager.

Brentford though have not lost a home league game since August – a run which stretches 11 matches – and should prove tougher opposition than Wednesday’s Boxing Day conquests Nottingham Forest.

The Bees’ recent form has even got some Owls fans hoping they return from Griffin Park with more than three points, with manager Dean Smith proving a popular choice to succeed Carlos Carvalhal – at least on Twitter.

As if Bullen’s task wasn’t hard enough, the probable loss of Gary Hooper and Joost van Aken – on top of countless others – could compound matters further. There’s Monday’s visit of Burton Albion to consider, too.

Keiren Westwood, Kieran Lee, George Boyd and Fernando Forestieri are confirmed absentees, although it remains to be seen whether or not Tom Lees, Jack Hunt, Steven Fletcher and Barry Bannan will be fit to return against Brentford.
