Rangers will return to action on Thursday evening when they take on Benfica at Ibrox in the Europa League.
Steven Gerrard’s side are in great form at the moment and will head into the match against Benfica on the back of a 4-0 home win against Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership.
That win saw Rangers extend their lead to 11 points at the top of the league table, and the Gers will now be determined to enhance their chances of progressing to the knockout rounds of the Europa League from Group D.
Rangers boss Gerrard has made changes to his team this season, and he is likely to do the same against Benfica.
Leon Balogun started against Aberdeen, but the 32-year-old is likely to make way for 27-year-old centre-back Filip Helander, who cost Rangers £3.5 million in transfer fee when they signed him from Bologna in the summer of 2019, as reported by The Scottish Sun.
Glen Kamara started against Benfica in Portugal, and the former Arsenal prospect could come in for Joe Aribo in midfield on Thursday evening.
Aribo – described as “stunning” by Gerrard on Rangers’ official Twitter page in July 2020 – started the match against Aberdeen, and although he played well, the Liverpool legend may want Kamara to feature as he is more defence-minded.
Ryan Kent, Alfredo Morelos and Kemar Roofe are set to be the front-three.
