Rangers play host to Livingston on Saturday in the Scottish Premiership at Ibrox.
Steven Gerrard is likely to make a number of changes to his Rangers side ahead of Saturday’s Scottish Premiership clash against Livingston at Ibrox, with injuries beginning to take their toll.
The Gers have not played since their 7-1 demolition of Motherwell at home, which sent them to within two points of Scottish Premiership leaders and bitter rivals Celtic. They sit in third, with Hearts level on points with Celtic.
Ryan Jack pulled out of Scotland’s squad prior to the UEFA Nations League matches against Albania and Israel and if he does indeed have a knee injury, then he is likely to be rested.
Gerrard confirmed in the week that Ryan Kent is still a couple of week away from overcoming a hamstring injury he picked up on November 3, while Borna Barisic is facing a race against time to be fit for Saturday.
The Croat defender is likely to be rested with a huge Europa League clash against Villarreal next Thursday, and that should see Jon Flanagan start on the left side of defence.
Andy Halliday featured at left-back against The Well, but he could deputise for Jack in holding midfield. Daniel Candeias has returned after serving his suspension, and should start out wide – replacing youngster Glenn Middleton.
At the back, Gareth McAuley featured for 90 minutes in Northern Ireland’s 2-1 loss to Austria as he continues to regain his match fitness and that should see him start alongside Connor Goldson for the Gers.
All in all, three changes are likely to occur, with Flanagan, McAuley and Candeias coming in for Jack, 22-year-old Nikola Katic and Middleton.
