Queens Park Rangers travel to Swansea City on Saturday with Angel Rangel and Geoff Cameron set for recalls.
Queens Park Rangers take on Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday, with the R’s set to make a number of changes from the side that bowed out of the Carabao Cup in midweek.
Boss Steve McClaren gave opportunities to QPR’s youngsters and fringe players with very little reward, going down 2-0 to Blackpool and seeing Jordan Cousins dismissed.
Rangers are likely to line up with former Swansea defender Angel Rangel as right-back, with Geoff Cameron considered for his second start in midfield, replacing Alex Baptiste and Josh Scowen who played against Norwich City last week.
The Hoops went down 1-0 to the Canaries in what was a largely flat and disappointing performance. McClaren will certainly be looking for a response from his side after two straight defeats.
Eberechi Eze was ineffective in the defeat to Daniel Farke’s side but he will be looking to add to his fine start overall in South Wales. Luke Freeman and Massimo Luongo will also return to midfield as the R’s look to take something from the game.
Joe Lumley is expected in goal with Toni Leistner, Joel Lynch and Jake Bidwell returning to defence and Tomer Hemed and Nahki Wells up top. McClaren will be wary of the Swans’ tight defence and will be reliant on his flair players.
It will not be an easy or a pretty game against Graham Potter’s side, but QPR can take hope from their recent upturn in results.
Wells and Hemed are due a goal and will be vital to anything the R’s get on Saturday.
