Newcastle United have had a terrible start to the new season and their manager Rafa Benitez will be hoping that changes when they face fellow strugglers West Ham United on Saturday.

The Magpies have lost their opening two league games and they crashed out of the EFL Cup to Nottingham Forest earlier this week, and as their transfer window struggles continue it is up to the Spaniard to get the best out of the players he does have at his disposal.

Newcastle cannot call on defenders Paul Dummett, DeAndre Yedlin or Florian Lejeune, while midfielder Jonjo Shelvey is suspended until 10 September.

Dwight Gayle is a minor doubt due to illness but the striker is rated at 75 per cent to recover in time for this fixture.

West Ham have had a less than promising start themselves, losing 4-0 to Manchester United before seeing a late fightback count for nothing when they were defeated 3-2 to Southampton last weekend.

This is very much make-or-break for the two teams and whoever wins can take it as a huge positive for the challenges ahead. As for whoever loses, it could be the start of a very tough season.

With all that in mind here is how we expect Newcastle to line up for their upcoming clash with the Hammers:
