Newcastle United welcome Watford to St. James’ Park this weekend for their latest Premier League clash, and the Magpies will be desperate to get back to winning ways after losing their last three for the first time since Rafa Benitez took charge.

The 4-1 defeat to Manchester United means Newcastle have slipped to 11th in the table and cannot afford to let the rot set in this side of the hectic festive fixtures.

Watford are eighth in the table and will not be easy opponents for Newcastle, even if the Magpies have home advantage.

The Hornets have outstanding young Brazilian Richarlison in their ranks and Benitez will be working hard on the training field to ensure his side can keep the tricky winger at bay.

In early team news, Newcastle are without Jamaal Lascelles, Christian Atsu and Isaac Hayden while Paul Dummet is back from injury but is lacking match fitness and Mikel Merino is 50/50 to feature from the start.
