Newcastle United welcome Birmingham City to St. James’ Park on Saturday for their latest Championship encounter.

The Magpies are currently top of the table but they could be replaced by second-placed Brighton & Hove Albion on Friday evening if the Seagulls overcome Leeds United.

Whatever happens in that fixture, Newcastle will be desperate to get back to winning ways after a dip in form, and manager Rafa Benitez has some tough decisions to make in terms of team selection.

Birmingham are currently fifth in the table with plenty to play for themselves.

They would move to within just six points of Newcastle with a victory, and with the busy Christmas and New Year period approaching none of the clubs in the top 10 will have given up hope of a surge into the automatic promotion places if things go their way.
