Newcastle are expected to beat League Two table toppers Luton Town.
Rafa Benitez is expected to make a whole host of changes to his Newcastle United side as they play host to Luton Town at St. James’ Park on Saturday afternoon in the third round of the FA Cup.
Newcastle’s first-team stars will still be recovering from a gruelling Christmas period that saw them play three games against Manchester City, Stoke City and Brighton within the space of six days.
That will see the Spanish boss look to rest the likes of Jamaal Lascelles, Ayoze Perez and Javier Manquillo, who all featured in each of the three quick-fire Premier League outings.
Aleksandar Mitrovic, Jesus Gamez, Rob Elliot and Florian Lejeune have all been suffering with injuries of late and Benitez has confirmed that he will not risk any of those four players against Nathan Jones’ side.
The Hatters will come into the game in good spirits, losing just once in 14 games as well as winning 11 of those outings. However, they will surely come up against a side away from home that will prove too strong.
Freddie Woodman is expected to make his Toon debut between the sticks at the age of 20, while forgotten stars Jamie Sterry, Massadio Haidara, Dan Barlaser and Yasin Ben El-Mhanni could also feature from the off.
