Manchester United have added two new faces to their squad so far and more are likely to follow.

Manchester United have already sealed deals for Victor Lindelof and Romelu Lukaku this summer but there is plenty of business yet to be completed, with the club in need of an out-and-out winger and a holding midfielder.

While talk persists of a new full-back, that is one position United do not need to strengthen if they keep all their current players, with Antonio Valencia, Matteo Darmian and Timothy Fosu-Mensah able to play on the right and Luke Shaw, Daley Blind, Demi Mitchell and (when he is fit) Marcos Rojo all fine options on the opposite flank.

What United need right now is a player to sit in front of the defence and allow Ander Herrera and Paul Pogba the freedom to attack, while a winger who hogs the touchline (something the club have not had for years) a necessity if manager Jose Mourinho wants to get the very best out of Lukaku.

According to the Sun, United are hoping to get deals for Nemanja Matic and Ivan Perisic over the line in due course, although the club’s fans are surely sick of the phrase “in the next 48 hours”, which has been doing the rounds as the rumours have persisted with no concrete news of a breakthrough.

While United are looking to significantly strengthen, they already have plenty of exciting options to choose from and it will be interesting to see how Mourinho opts to play in the big games when he has all his options fit and available.

Here we take a look at a possible first-choice starting XI if United get their last two deals done before the transfer window slams shut.
