Match to be played on Sunday 18th January 2015 at 16:00. Venue: Etihad Stadium, Manchester.
Manchester City welcome Arsenal to the Etihad Stadium this afternoon in a huge match for both clubs that could have a considerable impact at the top of the Premier League.
Arsenal slipped out of the European places on Saturday due to other teams’ results while City saw a five-point gap open up between them and current league leaders Chelsea following the Blues’ 5-0 win against Swansea City.
This match could go either way, but at the Etihad City will be quietly confident of getting one over an Arsenal side they have a fine recent record against.
City injury concerns: Edin Dzeko has a knock and has a 50 per cent chance of making it.
City absences: Yaya Toure is unavailable due to his involvement in the Africa Cup of Nations while Samir Nasri is out with a calf injury.
Arsenal injury concerns: Kieran Gibbs is a minor doubt with an ankle problem.
Arsenal absences: Mathieu Debuchy is out with a dislocated shoulder while Jack Wilshere and Mikel Arteta are both side-lined with ankle injuries. Danny Welbeck is out with a thigh problem and Abou Diaby is a long-term absentee.
Predicted starting line-ups:
Manchester City – Hart, Zabaleta, Kompany, Demichelis, Clichy, Fernandinho, Fernando, Navas, Silva, Jovetic, Aguero
Arsenal – Ospina, Chambers, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs, Rosicky, Coquelin, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Cazorla, Sanchez, Giroud
