Liverpool take on Red Bull Salzburg.

Jurgen Klopp manager

Liverpool bid to get their Champions League campaign back on track tonight against Red Bull Salzburg.

Jurgen Klopp’s side suffered a shock defeat in their opener away at Napoli.

Salzburg themselves top the group, after beating Belgian side Gent 6-2.

Liverpool are expected to make one enforced change, with The Mirror reporting that centre-back Joel Matip is out with injury.

Xherdan Shaqiri is also out injured for the fixture.

Liverpool have a decision to make whether to pick Joe Gomez or Dejan Lovren alongside Virgil van Dijk.

The decision could be key, with Salzburg striker Erling Braut Haaland passed fit to play.

Gomez is probably higher up the Liverpool pecking order, and has a brighter future at Anfield than Lovren. This is a good test for the England international.

The midfield and front three largely picks itself, although Divock Origi is a contender to start if Liverpool wish to freshen it up and give Roberto Firmino a rest.

Adrian will continue in goal with Alisson still not ready to return.
