Liverpool take on Leicester City with Jurgen Klopp knowing that he will have to name a very unfamiliar looking line-up for the contest.

Virgil van Dijk, Andy Robertson, Joe Gomez, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Fabinho, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Mohamed Salah are all among the Liverpool players who are set to be sidelined for the contest, which leaves the Reds’ options looking limited.

Liverpool will almost certainly name a back-line that has never played together before.

James Milner and Neco Williams look likely to start at full-back, while Nathaniel Phillips and Joel Matip are set to feature in the middle of the Reds’ defence.

Phillips faces arguably the toughest test of his career to date, as he will come up against a dangerous Jamie Vardy, who has looked really sharp in recent weeks.

In midfield, Georginio Wijnaldum may have to play in the holding role, with Naby Keita and Curtis Jones either side of him.

Liverpool’s attack does, at least, still look very strong, even though Mohamed Salah.

Klopp looks likely to pick Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota and the three could still cause carnage, if Leicester allow them too much space.

Predicted Liverpool XI: Alisson; Williams, Phillips, Matip, Milner; Wijnaldum, Jones, Keita; Mane, Firmino, Jota.
