West Ham United face a second London derby in four days as Arsenal visit the London Stadium on Wednesday night.
West Ham have picked up in recent weeks almost earning a point at champions-elect Manchester City before a brilliant 1-0 win over Chelsea last time out.
It has given the club new hope of survival under David Moyes who has got the Hammers organised and working hard, something that has been missing for the best part of 18 months.
The East Londoners entertain Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal on Wednesday night knowing a win would take them out of the relegation zone ahead of a run of crucial winnable fixtures.
The performance over Chelsea was the best from a West Ham side for a long while but the work rate on display means it would also have taken a lot out of the players.
So Moyes looks set to make two changes for the Gunners aimed at targeting the North Londoners’ age-old weakness.
Andy Carroll in for Michail Antonio
Antonio literally ran himself into the ground just four days ago against Chelsea. The powerful and pacey star was key to West Ham’s success against Chelsea as they set up to counter attack the reigning champions. But he had to be withdrawn in the second half as he was running on empty.
His exertions mean he will likely be used from the bench against the Gunners with Moyes to bring in Andy Carroll from the cold.
The big Geordie is yet to score this season but has a great record against Arsenal who have always had problems dealing with his height and physical presence. With Arthur Masuaku, Marko Arnautovic and Aaron Cresswell in the side Carroll should get plenty of ammunition from crosses too.
