Tottenham Hotspur entertain London rivals West Ham United just 48 hours after a 2-0 win over Swansea.
Tottenham are in fine form of late and will be seeking revenge over a West Ham side who came from 2-0 down to win 3-2 when they last met at Wembley in the Carabao Cup back in October.
The Hammers have derailed Tottenham’s title challenge in each of the last two seasons by beating Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
This time around Spurs are not in the title race but find themselves in the thick of an intense battle for the Champions League spots.
West Ham meanwhile are in a battle against relegation so it is all to play for at Wembley on Thursday night.
The East Londoners beat West Brom 2-1 last time out and like Spurs have had just 48 hours to recover for a huge London derby.
David Moyes will likely set up in ultra defensive fashion as he has done previously against superior teams so Spurs will need all the guile they have.
And Pochettino looks set to make three changes to the side which started against the Swans when West Ham visit.
Serge Aurier in for Keiran Trippier
Trippier is as fit as they come but along with Harry Kane, he probably has the most physcially demanding role in the team.
He probably could play twice in 48 hours but with a quality back-up like Aurier available Pochettino will bring him in to freshen things up.
Victor Wanyama in for Erik Lamela
West Ham are a physically strong side and Pochettino will look to level things up in that regard by bringing Wanyama back into the team.
Lamela is still finding his way back after a long injury layoff and will not be put through two games in as many days.
West Ham have a lack of options in midfield and injury problems in defence so Wanyama should dictate the play if he can get the better of Mark Noble.
Harry Kane in for Fernando Llorente
The no-brainer of the year just four days into 2018! West Ham’s defenders will no doubt have had a sleepless couple of nights after seeing Kane return from illness as a second half sub against Swansea to setup the second goal.
Another couple of days rest and recovery for Kane should see him back to something like his best and he will be looking to maintain his excellent scoring record against West Ham.
