West Ham United face a daunting trip to face Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday.

West Ham have turned a corner under David Moyes and reached the 30-point mark with a 2-0 win over Watford last time out and face an in-form Liverpool.

It is some turnaround from the situation the Scot inherited when he was appointed in November with the Hammers languishing in the relegation zone with just nine points.

But there is still some work to do yet to secure survival in what is a congested and fiercely competitive bottom half of the table.

And not many outside the West Ham dressing room will give the East Londoners much hope given the free-scoring form of Jurgen Klopp’s side.

But Moyes goes into the game off the back of a 10-day break from match action and two major boosts in terms of personnel.

That’s because star player Manuel Lanzini AND key defender Winston Reid are both back in contention for the trip to Merseyside.

Moyes looks set to make two changes to accommodate those returns and strengthen the side at both ends while setting the team up to play on the counter attack.

Winston Reid in for Joao Mario

Mario has made a positive impact since signing on loan from Inter Milan but West Ham will not be as cavalier to play with both Mario and Lanzini at Anfield. The Portuguese will be a useful asset from the bench but will make way for the returning Reid so that Aaron Cresswell can move out to left wing back which will in turn push Michail Antonio back out onto the right hand side with his pace crucial on the counter.

Manuel Lanzini in for Javier Hernandez

Lanzini and Marko Arnautovic have struck up a brilliant understanding, just ask Stoke and Huddersfield. It was brought to a halt but injuries to the pair but Lanzini is back and Moyes will be tempted to use him from the start with Arnautovic offering more pace, power and mobility than Chicharito who cannot operate as a lone front man, particularly away from home.
