Leeds United and Bolton Wanderers face off this weekend as the Championship returns.

Leeds United travel to the Macron Stadium this weekend to take on Bolton Wanderers in their first Championship match of the new season.

The Whites have plenty of new faces to choose from, with manager Thomas Christiansen given the funds to significantly strengthen the squad he inherited when he replaced former boss Garry Monk earlier this summer, and some of those should kick off this encounter.

Apoel FC's head coach Thomas Christiansen attend a training session in Copenhagen on August 15, 2016 on the eve of the Champions League play off football match against FC Copenhagen.

New loan signing Matthew Pennington should start alongside Liam Cooper with Swedish international Pontus Jansson suspended for the first two matches of the new campaign.

Ezgjan Alioski should also start on the right after his impressive showings in pre-season, but the rest of Leeds’ new additions may have to wait for their first start.

While some Leeds fans will shudder at the suggestion of Kalvin Phillips and Eunan O’Kane starting this fixture, the duo have been superb in pre-season and are currently – on form alone – the best midfield pairing at Christiansen’s disposal.

In time Mateusz Klich and Ronaldo Vieira should step in but the summer suggests they may have to wait a little longer, especially after the former’s injury setback.

Leeds will wan to get off to the best possible start and, with plenty of strength on the bench, few would bet against them this weekend.

Here is how we predict Leeds will line-up on Sunday:
