Leeds United do not need to wait long for a chance to bounce back following their defeat to Derby County at the weekend as they host Wigan Athletic on Tuesday night.

Garry Monk’s men were narrowly beaten at the iPro Stadium as Kyle Bartley and Marcus Antonsson hit the bar and post respectively in a game that was decided by Johnny Russell’s thunderous drive.

With only the narrowest of margins denying them a share of the points, it would not be a surprise if Monk kept faith with the majority of the team that started against the Rams.

The two changes he may well want to consider will involve the men he selected to play out on the wings.

Alex Mowatt once again proved that he is much less effective as a wide-man as he struggled against Derby, while Hadi Sacko endured one of his weakest performances since he moved to Elland Road on loan in the summer.

With that in mind, Monk may wish to consider giving Antonsson and Kemar Roofe a chance to start against the Latics.

Both men looked bright when they came on against Derby, and their presence in the team will allow Monk to change the system at any stage if he feels that Chris Wood is isolated up top.

And with Wigan struggling currently, he will surely want as much fire-power on the pitch as possible to give the Whites the best chance of securing an emphatic win.
