Leeds take on Bristol City at Elland Road on Saturday afternoon.

Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa looks on before kick off during the Sky Bet Championship match between West Bromwich Albion and Leeds United at The Hawthorns on November 10, 2018 in...

Marcelo Bielsa has been rocked by two major injuries ahead of Leeds clash against Bristol City on Saturday afternoon, with Bailey Peacock-Farrell and Pontus Jansson both ruled out.

Northern Ireland international Peacock-Farrell suffered a knee injury i training on Thursday, while Jansson missed Sweden’s international fixtures and is unlikely to be fit in time for Saturday – as confirmed by Bielsa in his Thursday press conference.

The Whites are still without Izzy Brown, who managed 45 minutes for the Under-23 side during the international break. Patrick Bamford, Luke Ayling, and Gaetano Berardi also miss out.

Peacock-Farrell’s absence should mean Polish youngster Kamil Miazek will start in goal in what will be his debut for Leeds, while Kalvin Phillips may have to replace Jansson at centre-back. Aapo Halme is also an option, according to Bielsa.

Jamal Blackman has returned to Chelsea after suffering a broken leg and he is likely to be replaced by 20-year-old England youth international Will Huffer on the Leeds bench.

Ryan Edmondson returned in the same game that Blackman broke his leg, against Birmingham City’s Under-23 side. Tom Pearce is also expected to train like normal ahead of the clash, after being spotted wearing a protective boot.

Leeds United's Samu Saiz holds off the challenge from Nottingham Forest's Jack Colback at Elland Road on October 27, 2018 in Leeds, England.

Samu Saiz is one match away from a ban but he could return to the starting line-up after impressing off the bench, while Gjanni Alioski is likely to retain his place out wide ahead of Jack Harrison and Jack Clarke.

Two changes for Bielsa’s side, then. £4.5million signing (YEP) Adam Forshaw starts in Phillips’ holding midfield role, as the latter will play at centre-back to replace Jansson. Miazek comes in for Peacock-Farrell, Saiz in for Jansson.
