Chelsea could make a couple of changes heading into the Champions League game against Sporting Lisbon.
Chelsea will be looking for their first win in the Champions League this season when they head to Portugal to take on Sporting Lisbon.
They could only manage a draw in the first game against Schalke and are likely to be without key striker Diego Costa, who continues to manage a troublesome hamstring problem.
Here’s the side Jose Mourinho could go with for the game.
GK – Thibaut Courtois
The Belgian will continue in goal having made a fine start to life in Chelsea colours.
RB – Branislav Ivanovic
A reliable and experienced player. He’s a solid option to have on the right hand side of the defence.
CB – Gary Cahill
Cahill provides pace and strength in the middle of the defence. He should mop up anything Sporting play over the top.
CB – John Terry
Terry will inject that key experience into the back four. He’s experienced plenty of games like this in his career.
LB – Cesar Azpilicueta
‘Dave’ will produce a solid performance on the left as he continues to keep Filipe Luis out of the team.
RM – Andre Schurrle
Schurrle could come into the midfield as he’ll work harder defensively than Willian on that side.
CM – Nemanja Matic
Matic will play the defensive role in midfield as he looks to intercept the ball and make tackles before danger develops.
CM – Cesc Fabregas
Fabregas is the heartbeat of the current side. He starts.
AM – Oscar
The Brazilian should keep his place in the side after a good performance against Aston Villa. He’ll be confident and Mourinho should recognise that.
LM – Eden Hazard
Hasn’t been at his best this season but could enjoy more space as Sporting get forward and leave areas exposed.
ST – Didier Drogba
With Costa’s tight hamstring likely to keep him out, Drogba could step into the team.
