A Premier League title is the best that Jose Mourinho can now hope for, after his side were beaten 3-1 over two legs in the semi-final of the Champions League against Atletico Madrid.

A season without silverware could prompt some big changes from the boss this summer, which means the players will be on edge with some potentially playing for their futures at the club.

Here’s the side Mourinho may go with.

GK – Mark Schwarzer

Now that Chelsea are out of the Champions League, there’s no value in rushing Petr Cech back, which means a chance for Schwarzer to continue in goal.

RB – Branislav Ivanovic

Ivanovic has played well at right-back throughout the season and he should stay in that position in the back four.

CB – Gary Cahill

The centre-back should keep his place in the heart of the back four. He’s been one of the Blues’ most consistent players so far this season.

CB – John Terry

Terry will be as disappointed as anyone after the Atletico loss but he’s an important player to have in the defence, as Mourinho will be determined to ensure there are no more slip ups.

LB – Cesar Azpilicueta

Azpilicueta could revert to the left-back role where he’s played well this season. It would be harsh on Ashley Cole.

RM – Willian

Willian has got better as the Premier League season has rolled on. He’ll be a threat down the right but he can switch sides and also drift into central positions during the game.

DM – Nemanja Matic

Matic has been superb since he returned to the club. He’ll roam that space in front of the defence and look to pick off the Norwich attacks.

CM – Frank Lampard

Lampard will be fresh as he wasn’t part of the squad which played against Atletico. His ability to pop up and score goals from midfield is well known and he’s a player Mourinho trusts.

AM – Oscar

Mourinho said before last night’s game he was unsure over Oscar’s fitness so held him back. It’s time to unleash him and to let him cause chaos.

LM – Eden Hazard

Hazard showed no signs of a recent calf injury last night, which means he should keep his place in the side. He’ll nudge forward and form a two man attack if the Blues are on top during the match.

ST – Fernando Torres

Torres bagged Chelsea’s first goal against Atletico and he’ll be confident. He should also be determined to prove that he can be an important player in Chelsea’s attack over the coming seasons.
