Long-term injury victim Jores Okore remains out for Villa, meaning Nathan Baker is likely to continue in central defence. Leandro Bacuna will probably continue deputising at right-back, though Matthew Lowton made the bench in the last fixture, and could be pushing for a return.
Christian Benteke, so impressive after coming off the bench against Spurs, will surely start after a week of training. If he does, he will likely be facing compatriot Romelu Lukaku in Everton’s attack. It will be interesting to see who comes out on top in the battle of Belgium’s two powerful target men, and the match may well be won or lost depending on who can influence the match more.
