In the previous fixture between the two sides, Villa defeated Preston 2-0 at Deepdale. They will be looking to maintain their impressive form at Villa Park where they lost just once in 16 matches in the Championship.
Albert Adomah missed the game against Fulham with a hamstring injury, and will be sidelined against Preston as well. Fellow teammate Andre Green will also miss out with a hamstring injury.
Jack Grealish missed the last match due to a calf injury, and he is once again a serious doubt for this game. Ahmed Elmohamedy was withdrawn at half-time against Fulham, and he remains doubtful as well.
Axel Tuanzebe made an impressive debut in the last match at right-back, and he is expected to keep his place.
