Aston Villa and Hull City go head-to-head this weekend but how will the Villans line up?

Aston Villa kick off their new Championship campaign on Saturday when they welcome recently relegated Hull City to Villa Park.

Steve Bruce’s side will be hoping to make it second time lucky as they bid to win promotion back to the top flight after their own fall from grace 12 months previously, although they will be well aware of the challenges ahead.

Manager of Aston Villa Steve Bruce during the pre season friendly match between Aston Villa and Watford at Villa Park on July 29, 2017 in Birmingham, England.

Villa significantly strengthened their squad back in January although it was not enough to inspire a late surge up the table.

This summer they have brought in centre-backs John Terry and Chris Samba, to add considerable experience and strength to their back line, while Glenn Whelan will bring guile to the centre of the park and Ahmed Elmohamady will be hoping to get one over his former club on his competitive debut.

Villa completed their pre-season preparations with a 0-0 draw against Watford last weekend and now they are looking to get off to the best possible start.

Last season they finished 13th and that will be nowhere near good enough come May 2018.

Something suggests Villa will make a real fist of it this season but they will also need a little luck along the way.

Here is how we predict Villa will line up against Hull this weekend:
