Villa play host to Leeds on Sunday in the Championship.
Aston Villa manager Dean Smith has the important decision of whether to risk some of his injured stars to face Leeds United on Sunday, or stick with a similar side that drew with Stoke City last time out.
Playmaker Jack Grealish is suffering with a shin injury and he is expected to remain missing from Villa’s crucial clash against Leeds, which sees Smith side go into the match seven games unbeaten.
However, Smith has stated that he hopes to have midfield trio Mile Jedinak, Birkir Bjarnason and Henri Lansbury back, while Albert Adomah could also return to the side.
Neil Taylor remains sidelined on the left side of defence, meaning Alan Hutton will continue to deputise. Ahmed El Mohamady is likely to cover Hutton at right-back.
Glenn Whelan impressed against his former side Stoke and will sit at the base of three-man midfield, behind Conor Hourihane and John McGinn – the latter a star in the Villa side since leaving Hibernian in the summer.
Anwar El Ghazi could be replaced by Jonathan Kodjia on Sunday, with the Dutch international having little joy against Stoke. Adomah and the Lille loanee will have to make do with the bench.
Though Lansbury, Jedinak, Bjarnason and Adomah are expected to return, they may have to suffice with a place on the bench. Smith is likely to name just one change to the side that drew 2-2 last time out with Stoke – Kodjia in for El Ghazi.
