Arsenal will be looking to book their place in the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday evening when they take on Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium in North London.
Mikel Arteta’s side will head into the match against City on the back of a 2-1 defeat to Everton away from home at Goodison Park in the league.
Arsenal boss Arteta is likely to make a few changes to the team that lost against the Toffees.
Joe Willock is likely to start as part of the front-three. The 21-year-old is an attacking midfielder who has done well when he has been called into action, and the England Under-21 international – described as “brilliant” by former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves on BT Sport 2 (7:47pm, November 26, 2020) – could get to start against Pep Guardiola’s side initially on the right of a front-three, but with the licence to play a ‘free role’.
Willian is not having the best of seasons for the Gunners, and the former Chelsea winger – described by Arsenal Technical Director Edu as a player who has “fantastic attributes” on the club’s official website in August 2020 – is likely to be dropped.
Willock came on as a substitute against Everton, while Willian started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes.
Arteta is likely to field some experienced players, such as Bernd Leno, David Luiz and Mohamed Elneny in an effort to win the tie. Hector Bellerin and Sead Kolasinac are likely to be the two wing-backs.
