Arsenal head into the FA Cup final this weekend as the favourites to win at Wembley against Hull City.

It’s a huge game for the Gunners because of the fact the club hasn’t won any silverware since 2005. Arsene Wenger has remained modest in the build up and he should be able to name a very strong team for the match.

Here’s the eleven he may go with.

GK – Lukasz Fabianski

The Pole could be playing his last game for the club and Wenger will use that to motivate him, expecting a top draw performance before he signs off.

RB – Bacary Sagna

Wenger could also do the same thing with Sagna. He said yesterday that he has no issues with Sagna’s professionalism ahead of the game, expecting him to do his best for the team.

CB – Per Mertesacker

The big German should slot nicely into central defence. He’ll be a key figure in keeping the back four organised, especially if Hull are able to put together some early spells of pressure.

CB – Laurent Koscielny

The Frenchman has formed a very good partnership with Mertesacker in Arsenal’s defence so far this season. He starts.

LB – Kieran Gibbs

Gibbs will most likely play because of his pace up and down the left hand side. On a huge, open pitch like Wembley it’s important to have players who can exploit space.

RM – Santi Cazorla

Cazorla represents a player who can protect the ball, work hard and create chances out of nothing. When Sagna gets forward, the Spaniard can slot inside.

DM – Mikel Arteta

Arteta will most likely be the player who drops deepest in Arsenal’s midfield. He’ll be important if the game doesn’t start well as several players could look to him for a reaction.

CM – Aaron Ramsey

Ramsey has been Arsenal’s standout player this season. He scores goals, he creates chances and he’s a feisty player to have in the middle.

AM – Mesut Ozil

Ozil needs to have a big game for Arsenal, really putting the pressure onto Hull. Expect him to constantly be on the move and be a pain for the Tigers to get to grips with.

LM – Lukas Podolski

The German has been one of Arsenal’s most in form attacking players recently. He can be a real threat from the left or when he moves inside centrally.

ST – Olivier Giroud

Giroud could be playing for his starting place next season. A big, dominant performance in this game could make Wenger think twice about his attacking transfer targets.
