Here’s how Arsenal could line-up against Galatasaray this week.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has one or two selection dilemmas as his team prepare to face Galatasaray in the Champions League.
It’s a big game for the Gunners as they were well beaten in their opening match away at Borussia Dortmund which has left the team chasing top spot already.
Here’s the side that Arsene Wenger could select bearing in mind the injuries to Mikel Arteta and Aaron Ramsey.
GK – Wojciech Szczesny
The Pole has blossomed into one of the best goalkeepers in Europe at the club. He starts.
RB – Calum Chambers
Chamber’s versatility is proving to be vital and Arsene Wenger could keep him on the right hand side of defence.
CB – Per Mertesacker
Every Gunner knows what they’re getting from Mertesacker; strength and experience.
CB – Laurent Koscielny
The Frenchman injects some pace into the back four and has a great partnership with Mertesacker.
LB – Kieran Gibbs
Gibbs will provide some pace over on the left hand side and should enjoy some space to get forward and exploit.
RM – Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
The Ox will inject some real pace into the side on the right. He played well against Spurs and should be confident.
CM – Mathieu Flamini
Flamini is the ideal player to have coming in for Mikel Arteta and providing the back four with some protection.
CM – Santi Cazorla
Cazorla is a good player to have coming into the middle of the team if Jack Wilshere can’t recover from an ankle problem.
AM – Mesut Ozil
Injuries could see Ozil slotted in behind the main striker where he’s arguably at his very best.
LM – Alexis Sanchez
Played on the left frequently for Barcelona. He can also drift into central positions when possible.
ST – Danny Welbeck
Welbeck will work hard to give the Arsenal frontline different options and to create space for others to exploit.
