Here’s the possible Arsenal side to play Besiktas tomorrow night in North London.

Arsenal head into the Champions League play-off game against Besiktas under huge pressure to pull off a result and qualify for the group stage.

The Gunners battled well away in Turkey to ensure they didn’t go behind in the tie but the red card dished out to Aaron Ramsey and an injury to Olivier Giroud, leaves Arsene Wenger with some selection problems ahead of this game.

We’ve attempted to name the starting side for the game at the Emirates tomorrow night.

GK – Wojciech Szczesny

The Pole is the club’s current number one and he’ll start unless he gets an injury in training.

RB – Mathieu Debuchy

The Frenchman looks as though he’s going to be a consistent player for Arsenal down the right hand side. He keeps his place.

CB – Per Mertesacker

This is a match where experience could be key if the game doesn’t start according to plan. Mertesacker is a great player and presence to have in the back four.

CB – Laurent Koscielny

Koscielny was an unused sub in the game against Everton. He’ll be fresh and has great experience playing alongside Mertesacker.

LB – Nacho Monreal

This is another chance for the left-back to show Wenger why he should be in the side ahead of Kieran Gibbs.

RM – Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

The Ox will be a key figure in this game, especially when he finds space to exploit his immense pace to get at the Besiktas back four.

DM – Mathieu Flamini

Flamini could be the man that Wenger tasks with protecting the back four. He can martial that space between defence and midfield.

CM – Jack Wilshere

Wilshere needs a big performance in the heart of the team. It’s important he does the basics effectively and keeps things ticking over.

AM – Mesut Ozil

The German should relish his first European game of the season with the Gunners. He can win this game for Arsenal on his own.

LM – Santi Cazorla

Ozil’s presence in the side could force Santi Cazorla over to the left hand side. He’ll rotate with other players throughout the game.

ST – Alexis Sanchez

Sanchez played this role effectively during the World Cup with Chile. It’s important he sticks to the top of the attack and resists the urge to drop off into the midfield.
