Arsenal progressed to the League Cup semi-finals in midweek, and should be in full confidence when they take on Liverpool on Friday night in the Premier League.

Most of their key players were rested in the midweek fixture, which means the Gunners should have a fresh team to face Jurgen Klopp’s side at the Emirates.

The north Londoners can count on their strong home record, having won 13 of their last 14 home matches in the Premier League.

Jack Wilshire of Arsenal looks on during the Premier League match between Arsenal and Newcastle United at Emirates Stadium on December 16, 2017 in London, England.

In the corresponding fixture between the two sides, Liverpool thrashed Arsenal 4-0, and it will take a massive effort from the Gunners to get a positive result on Friday against an in-form Liverpool side.

Klopp’s side has won their last four away games by a margin of three or more goals, but the Gunners have shown this season they can beat any team on their day.

Arsenal starting XI

Aaron Ramsey is still out with a hamstring injury, while Olivier Giroud, who suffered a hamstring injury against West Ham, should miss out as well.

However, Shkodran Mustafi, who was not risked in the midweek, is expected to return to first-team action on Friday night.
