Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed on Twitter that ‘this ain’t a pre-season game Leeds’ as they suffered a heavy 5-1 defeat to Manchester United on Saturday.

In a game to forget for Marcelo Bielsa’s side, they conceded five goals at Old Trafford, which included a hat-trick from Bruno Fernandes, although Luke Ayling did level the scores with a thumping effort.

With the crowd or without the crowd, Leeds have now conceded 11 goals away at their bitter rivals since their return to the big time.

But this one would have probably hurt more because there were thousands of Leeds fans packed into the away end having to witness an unforgettable opening game defeat.

This was the brutal reaction from Agbonlahor about Leeds yesterday.

This defeat will hurt for Leeds but it needs to be remembered that they are playing against a team that could be the champions this season.

Bielsa needs to ensure that this is wiped out of their system ahead of their clash against Everton next week.

For the first time in nearly two decades, Elland Road will be packed out for a Premier League fixture.

And one thing Bielsa’s teams do very well is react to setbacks.

It will be interesting to see if Kalvin Phillips is fit enough to start against Rafa Benitez’s side because Leeds needs their wall back in his number six spot.
