Kalvin Phillips has taken to Twitter to react after Watford posted footage of Roy Hodgson in training, ahead of Leeds’ trip to Vicarage Road on Saturday.

What’s the story?

Well, the Leeds No.23 was amazed by what he saw at Watford’s training ground yesterday, after a video was uploaded.

The Hornets posted footage of Hodgson playing a brilliant, lofted through ball into the path of Joao Pedro, which the Brazilian didn’t even need to control before slotting in.

Jokingly, Phillips wrote that he hopes the 74-year-old isn’t playing in the centre of midfield this Saturday, as he heaped praise on the former England manager’s through ball.

You can see the 26-year-old’s tweet in full below.

At the age of 74, it’s incredible to see Hodgson managing in the Premier League and holding training sessions in the bitter cold, let alone lofting perfectly weighted passes over the head of top-flight footballers!

Leeds must beat Watford

Jesse Marsch must prepare his Leeds side well for this Saturday’s clash with Watford, as it is a massive game – to say the least.

If Leeds win, they will put 11 points between themselves and the Hornets, and would also give themselves a major boost towards survival.

Depending on other results, a Leeds win could leave Everton cut adrift with Burnley, Watford and Norwich, which would be a relief for the Whites.

Also, Burnley and Everton have two games in hand over Leeds, so it’s vitally important that Marsch stops his side from being dragged back in by winning this six-pointer.
