The Atletico Madrid full back went on loan to Liverpool during the 2014-15 campaign
Javier Manquillo is wanted by Watford and Sunderland
Watford and Sunderland are both thought to be chasing Atletico Madrid full-back Javier Manquillo, according to Sky Sports.
The report details that Walter Mazzarri is in the market for a new right-wing back, as he looks to instill his 3-5-2 formation at Vicarage Road.
The former Inter Milan boss has earmarked the Spaniard as the ideal signing, whilst David Moyes is also in the hunt for a right-back, as he looks to add depth following on from his acquisition of former Manchester United youngster Donald Love.
Manquillo has spent time on loan at Liverpool
Manquillo, who is a Spanish Under-21 international, already has Premier League experience after he joined Liverpool on a two year loan deal during the 2014-2015 campaign.
The now 22 year old made 10 league appearances, but found his loan spell cut short after he was frozen out from the first team set-up after Christmas, and Atletico terminated his deal due to lack of first-team appearances.
Manquillo went on loan to Marseille last season
Since that disappointing spell in English football, Manquillo tried his luck at perilous Marseille, enduing a torrid spell for the club both on and off the field, but he held his own in the 31 Ligue 1 appearances he made.
And with Marseille not taking up their option to buy the player, Manquillo is now back at Atletico Madrid, and judging from their previous willingness to part company with the full-back, he could be available for a cut-price figure.
