Wojciech Szczesny is likely to return to Arsenal this summer after talks between the Gunners and Roma have stalled over a potential transfer, according to the Guardian,.
The Polish international spent last season on loan in Rome following the arrival of Petr Cech from Chelsea for £11 million.
Cech’s arrival left Szczesny surplus to requirements, with David Ospina also competing for a spot between the sticks, the Pole sought pastures new in order to ensure he would continue to be play regularly.

And, first under Rudi Garcia and then after his sacking in January Luciano Spalletti, Szczesny quickly established himself as the last defence of Rome, making 34 appearances in all competitions.
As such, Roma have been determined to keep hold of their favoured stopper for at least another season on loan, but according to the Guardian, talks between the English and Italian capitals have stalled.
Arsenal paid a percentage of the player’s wage last season, and they may be seeking better terms for Szczesny, who has two years remaining on his contract.
Spalletti is keen to keep Szczesny
The club are expected to offer him a new deal, the report continues, even if that means he is loaned out again next season.
Whether that will be to Rome remains unclear, as the man himself is determined to focus on Euro 2016 rather than speculation over his future.
