Sessegnon was released last month by West Bromwich Albion, but he could find himself playing in front of over 65,000 at the Stade Velodrome next season.
Pastures new: Stephane Sessegnon is linked with OM
Olympique de Marseille are in the running to pick up Stephane Sessegnon after he was released by West Bromwich Albion last month, according to France Football
The former Sunderland attacking midfielder has previous when it comes to playing French football, having made his name in France playing for Le Mans and later Paris Saint-Germain, before the days of Nasser Al Khelaifi and the mega spending.
And it appears he may have found a new home after being released by West Brom, after featuring only intermittently last term for the Baggies.
Many at West Brom were angry that Sessegnon was allowed to leave for free
His departure was met with derision from many at the Hawthorns, who, despite his inconsistency, was valued for his attacking flair, something the Baggies have lacked and their fans have been yearning for under Tony Pulis.
Marseille are currently looking to rebuild after a disastrous campaign last season, one that saw them teeter on the edge of relegation and one that has now seen many star names leave the club.
Michy Batshuayi left Marseille for Chelsea this summer
Michy Batshuayi is one of the standout names to have jumped ship, joining Chelsea earlier this month, and the latest escapee is set to be Georges-Kevin N’Koudou who, according to ESPN, is due to have a medical with Tottenham Hotspur later on today.
Sessegnon would be a breath of fresh air for Marseille, as a player coming in rather than heading out.
N’Koudou is another said to be on his way out from Marseille
The Benin international, who has over 60 caps to his name, is an attacking play-maker by trade, and he proved himself to be a real live wire after he joined Sunderland during the 2010-11 season.
He left to join West Brom in 2013, but he has only shown glimpses of what he is capable, netting nine goals during his time at The Hawthorns.
