The Scottish international has been impressed by new arrivals Alex Pritchard and Sergi Canos.

Steven Naismith has told Norwich Evening News that he has already seen the quality of new young signings Sergi Canos and Alex Pritchard.

Pritchard joined the Canaries from Champions League outfit Tottenham Hotspur for an undisclosed fee earlier this summer, whilst Sergi Canos arrived at Carrow Road from Liverpool for £2.5 million, although that could rise to £4.5 million.

And having only spent a few weeks with these two new faces, both of whom will be competing with Naismith for a first team spot in the Norwich attack, the Scottish international has been impressed with what he has seen.

“The new signings have been very good,” said Naismith.

“Sergi (Canos) has come in from Liverpool and is playing a wee bit of catch-up because he was in later for pre-season – but his qualities have definitely shone through in training and he’s a player that fits the mould of what the manager is trying to build. I’m sure everybody will be impressed.

“Alex (Pritchard) has come with a reputation as a good prospect at Spurs. I’ve come up against him a couple of times and he’s a quality player.

“With all the youngsters and the signings that are fairly young, you’ve got to just let them play, enjoy it. You might not see things straight away but over the course of the contract, you’ll see the best of them.”

Norwich kicked off their Championship campaign with a hugely impressive 4-1 win over Owen Coyle’s Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park on the opening day of the new season.

Their next test will come against last year’s Playoff finalists Sheffield Wednesday, who, despite winning their opening fixture against Aston Villa, will be hoping to bounce back after crashing out of the EFL Cup to League Two side Cambridge United during the week.
