The Argentinian hitman is thought to have caught the attention of Jürgen Klopp, but he has said he will not discuss his future until after Copa America.
Napoli’s Gonzalo Higuain is linked with a move away from Italy
Gonzalo Higuain has remained coy on rumours suggesting that he will leave Napoli this summer, telling Sky Italia that he will not be discussing his future until after Copa America.
Higuain has been linked with Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool in recent days by the Mirror, the latest club to be added to what is considered to be a long list of potential suitors.
The Argentine had a record-breaking season for Napoli this year, scoring 36 goals – the most for a single season in Serie A history, smashing a record that had stood for 66 years.
The Argentine is now one of the world’s most coveted forwards
And unsurprisingly, Higuain is hot property, but he remains reluctant to discuss his future plans.
“I’m only thinking about the national team,” Higuain told Sky. “We’ll talk after the Copa.”
Higuain scored 36 goals this past season
Liverpool and others may well have a tough task getting the proven goal-scorer away from the Stadio San Paolo, as the Partnopei will refuse to sell unless his release clause of €94 million is met.
Higuain is a part of Gerardo Martino’s Argentina squad for this month’s centenary edition of Copa America, held in the United States.

Higuain’s side got off to a great start to the competition yesterday, defeating holders Chile 2-1 despite missing Lionel Messi.
Argentina’s two remaining fixtures in Group D are against Panama and Bolivia, which are scheduled to take place on the 10th and 14th June respectively.
