Thomas Lam scored his second of the season against Wigan
Nottingham Forest defender Thomas Lam has told the club’s official website that the Reds must improve defensively in future after overcoming Wigan 4-3 on Saturday.
Lam was the hero of the hour after he netted in stoppage time to ensure the Tricky Trees earned their second win of the new season, and their second 4-3 success at that.
The result means Forest have conceded 10 goals already this season, the second highest in the division after four games.

And defender Lam, who joined the club during the summer, has picked up on their defensive frailties but has assured fans they will improve.
“They’re massive points for us today and we can take a lot of confidence from the victory. The next target is to improve in defence and get a clean sheet but that will come as we play more together.
“It was a crazy game. We obviously conceded three goals which isn’t good so we need to talk about that and make sure it doesn’t happen again. We created a lot of chances but made it difficult for ourselves.
“We have to improve defensively because the goals we conceded are still too easy. It takes time but have to continue working hard in training, preparing for each game and making sure we get better in defence.”
Nottingham Forest have looked promising in attack
Forest conceded all three of their goals from uncleared crosses into the box, but they will take heart from the threat they posed going forward, creating numerous chances and saw impressive attacking duo Britt Assombalonga and Oliver Burke both get on the scoresheet.
Wigan meanwhile will be disappointed to have lost a point, but they will hope to bounce back with a win against QPR, who visit the DW next weekend.
