The Reading defender has been linked with numerous clubs over the past month after his displays at Euro 2016
Wales’ Chris Gunter is set for a move to Premier League side Hull City
Hull City are set to beat Celtic to Reading and Wales defender Chris Gunter, according to the Sun.
The Tigers are set to fend off interest from Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic, who was first alerted to the defender’s availability due to his release clause of just £1.1 million – a figure less than what Reading paid for him in 2012, believed to be around £2.5 million.
Gunter has triggered interest from numerous clubs, with the Mirror claiming last month that Aston Villa, Middlesbrough and Swansea City were all in the running.

But it appears Hull have now stolen a march on the competition, as they are willing to meet the player’s release clause.
The Tigers suffered a major blow last weekend when right-back Moses Odubajo was stretchered off in their pre-season fixture against Grimsby Town.
Injured: Moses Odubajo
The injury struck just minutes into the game, but scans have revealed on Monday that Odubajo dislocated his knee cap as well as damaging a ligament in his knee, forcing him out of contention until at least the new year.
And with one right-back injured, manager Steve Bruce is keen to fill the void left by Odubajo as quickly as possible, in order to be ready for the new season.

Gunter caught the eye this summer at Euro 2016 in a Wales side that confounded all expectations by reaching the semi-finals.
The Reading defender has been a mainstay in the Welsh back line for the last eight years, and he currently has 73 caps for his country, despite only being 26.
