Some big players are linked with moves away from Arsenal this summer.
The likes of Granit Xhaka and William Saliba are heavily expected to leave North London for Roma and Marseille respectively.
But Arsenal have already sold another big player – in terms of size, at least.
The Gunners agreed a deal with Belgian side KV Oostende for the sale of Zech Medley in June.
The 21-year-old was an academy player at London Colney but the Emirates Stadium club decided to offload him.
However, Medley, who stands at 6’4, has suggested that he wouldn’t be against a return to Arsenal at some point in the future.
He told Belgian outlet Het Nieuwsblad: “From when I was 16, I went through the youth academy there. But with the first team, I often struggled with injuries. And if I had a good period, at most I made the bench. At some point, you have to think about yourself and your own career. But someday I would want to return.”
Unsure
You can tell Arsenal were a tad hesitant to sell Medley.
That’s because the Gunners included a buy-back clause in their deal with Oostende, which indicates that the North Londoners may well want him back at some point down the line.
Medley is clearly a talented lad and it’ll be fascinating to see how he fares playing regular football at a decent-enough level next season and beyond.
