‘Power of Mourinho, Jose effect’: Tottenham fans are ‘happy’ after noticing something last night

Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to react after seeing Wales release their lineup to take on the United States in a friendly last night.

At a first glance, it was evident that Gareth Bale wasn’t even part of the bench in what will come as good news to those who feared injury for the ex-Southampton man in this game.

However, look closely, and you’ll also see that two more Tottenham players in Ben Davies and Joe Rodon were being rested and weren’t included in the starting XI.

A few Tottenham fans on Twitter – as seen below – are citing Jose Mourinho’s influence as a reason for this.

The Portuguese coach often pressures international set-ups when it comes to them borrowing his players.

Mourinho and Gareth Southgate were involved in a war of words earlier this season over Harry Kane’s playing time for England.

The ex-Chelsea boss even pointed the finger at Wales coach Albert Stuivenberg – who also works for Arsenal.

Mourinho was concerned that club rivalries would come into play while Stuivenberg was working alongside Bale over this international break, as Wales Online relay.
