Olympique Marseille midfielder Boubacar Kamara has reportedly decided to leave his boyhood club at the end of his contract next summer, which could be music to Newcastle’s ears.
According to the Atheltic, the 22-year-old Frenchman has opted to decline a new contract with the French giants and will now leave the Ligue 1 club in 2022 as a free agent, with Newcastle one of the sides interested in the youngster.
Kamara has been one of Marseille’s top-performing players over the past few years. However, the midfielder, who can also play across the defence, has seemingly made the decision to call time on with Jorge Sampaoli’s side.
Newcastle are one of the sides that have been keeping tabs on Kamara for some time. But this bombshell transfer update could well kick some clubs into action and make a move for the French youngster.
Kamara has made 141 appearances for Marseille over the past five seasons, and England could well be the next destination for France U-21 international.
